Satterlee Stephens Wins Dismissal of Inventorship Claims

12-04-2017

On behalf of a medical devices company and one of its founding doctors, Satterlee Stephens obtained a dismissal of the plaintiff’s claims in an inventorship dispute brought in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.  Satterlee argued that the court could not exercise personal jurisdiction over either the company or the doctor.  Although the company sold its products in Maryland and the doctor maintained a vacation home there, the court held that these contacts were not sufficient to support personal jurisdiction. Satterlee Partner Mario Aieta appeared for the defendants.
