Alanna Newman and M. Alejandra Vargas Join Satterlee Stephens as Associates

Satterlee Stephens is pleased to announce the addition of Associates Alanna Newman and M. Alejandra Vargas to the firm.

Ms. Newman’s practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation and investigations. Ms. Newman clerked for the Honorable Kiyo A. Matsumoto in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.  She received her law degree, cum laude, from University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she served as an Articles Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law.  Ms. Newman received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Cornell University.

Ms. Vargas concentrates her practice in the area of immigration law. She represents companies in a wide variety of industries seeking to employ foreign nationals in the United States on a temporary or permanent basis. She also assists individuals and families in connection with nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters as well as naturalization.  Ms. Vargas earned her law degree at the University Pontificia Bolivariana in Colombia, and she was awarded a Master’s of Law Degree from Brooklyn Law School and a Master of Laws in Private Law from the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) in France, where she is also a Ph.D. candidate in International Law.
